In this study, powder analysis of three medicinal plants which are used traditionally i.e., Onanthe javanica, Psophocarpus tetragonolobus, Solanum xanthocarpum and Tithonia diversifolia were performed. This will help in identification and characterisation of closely related species and also for prevention of crude drug adulteration.
1. Solanum xanthocarpum
Cork cells and trichome were observed
Multiradiate stel late non-glandular trichomes observed
Fibres, vessel and trichome present
2. Onanthe javanica
Calcium oxalate crystals observed
Fibres present
Stone cells observed
3. Psophocarpus tetragonolobus
Trichome and cork cells were observed
Fibres present
Glandular trichome observed
Vessel observed
4. Tithonia diversifolia
Glandular trichomes and fibres were present
