This is a cross section of a leaf of Canna Indica.It is commonly known as Indian Shot.It belongs to the Cannaceae family.It is native to much of South America, Central America , the West Indies , Mexico , and the southeastern United States .The flower blooms during summer and autumn.It needs abundant sunlight.It can grow in clayey soil,loamy soil or sandy soil.the root can be powdered and used to treat diarrhea and dysentry,also its flower is used to act as a medicine to treat malaria.
