Ladybird beetle’s egg of species Coccinella transversalis. The eggs are yellowish in colour and their size ranges from 1-2 mm.
Ladybird beetle’s egg just prior to hatching showing structural segmentation of larva inside it as egg membrane becomes more transparent just before hatching and visualisation of inner structure becomes more clear.
The egg of ladybird beetle hatches into 1st instar larva after a period of 3-4 days. Under regular observation through foldscope, it was found that that egg hatches into 1st instar larva having alligator-like elongated, spiny body with markings and is about 0.5 – 1 mm in size.
