Symptom of Zonate leaf spot on maize leaf
Symptom of Zonate leaf spot on maize leaf Zonate leaf spot is a common disease of the grass family. Sorghum and Maize are two economically important hosts. Mature symptoms, as shown in the picture, are large dark colored semi-circular lesions and appear to be forming zones on the leaf and hence named as zonate leaf spot.
The disease is caused by a fungus Gleocercospora sorghi . A slide was prepared by taking a smear from plant sample and conidia of the fungus were seen and photographed using foldscope.
