Few weeks back had done two posts on foraminifera. I tried to look for it in the sand sample collected from Jaipur, India. Couldn’t find the foraminifera in that sample. I kept looking for it many different samples since then.
Today, I was digging through the sand sample collected from the Girgaon chaupati (beach) in Mumbai, India. While exploring through the 10x attached to phone, noticed that one tiny sand particle looks like foraminifera. Transferred it to the sides (transferring was really difficult as particle was really small) and looked under the foldscope. To my surprise it had resemblance to the foraminifera. Posted few pictures and twitter and Manu Prakash confirmed that it is indeed a foraminifera
