I own a Moto G – 1 st gen phone and I really like it :)! But what I don’t like is the images it takes with the foldscope. I recently realized that the quality of the phone camera matters a lot when taking good foldscope images.
Here is the same amphipod photographed using my old phone (Moto G) versus a newer iphone. I wonder if the DBT grant support iPhone purchases 😛 ? #IndiaFoldscopePhase1
Sometimes I really have to play with the depth of view to get the focus, adjusting the microscope lens to object distance by lifting or lowering my phone. In some cases, things line up perfectly and I get crisp images from the Moto G itself like this copepod appendage.. #AndamanPlankton
But the iPhone is definitely better!
Case in point this eye of the Lucifer shrimp shot here on the iPhone
and this unidentified crustacean…
