  • Individuals were exposed to the usage of foldscope for observing microbes, bacteria and fungus which were mounted on slides acquired from hands, mouth, water, feet and clothes of individual.
  • Women and children (around 60 ) were sensitized on issues relating to the personal hygiene and health.
  • Cleanliness was emphasised  through various videos which were shown in order to generate awareness on the personal hygiene for children and women.

    Dear @Sangita,

This is deeply meaningful. What an incredible way to communicate the virtues of science – with the role of direct evidence. These programs – once implemented at scale – might have a significantly impact in reducing the burden of many diseases.

On methodology, I also want to connect you with Sheri (my collaborator and leader of SHINE project) exploring innovative ways of bringing sanitation and hygiene information to communities in Tanzania. Sheri’s email is sheri.lee.bastien@nmbu.no

Also; see various foldscope posts on the project
