On 22 February 2019, ICAR–National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources (ICAR–NBAIR), Bengaluru, and ICAR Research Complex for North Eastern Hill Region (ICAR RCNEHR), Umiam, jointly organised a workshop at the College of Horticulture, Bengaluru. There were 109 participants, a majority of whom were B.Sc. (Horticulture) students. They learnt about various aspects of the Foldscope, including its assembly, slide preparation, visualisation and image capturing. Specimens of minute insects and mites drew their attention. Dr Prakya Sreerama Kumar (Principal Scientist, ICAR–NBAIR), Dr R. Krishnappa (Scientist, ICAR RCNEHR) and Ms H.N. Roja (Junior Research Fellow, ICAR–NBAIR) conducted the proceedings. Dr M.K. Honnabyraiah (Dean), Dr G.K. Halesh (Assistant professor) and Dr Mohan Kumar (Assistant Professor) were present during the workshop.
