This is a view of the pollen through a foldscope. Interestingly, there is a stripe through these pollen grains.
The flower from which the pollen sample was obtained. It is located at the turtle pond (officially, the Throop Memorial Pond) at Caltech in Pasadena, CA. The sample was taken from a pollen-covered pistil under the purple “petals” on 5/31/2019, at 5pm. #caltechbi1
