I am a faculty at Stanford and run the Prakash Lab at Department of Bioengineering at Stanford University. Foldscope community is at the heart of our Frugal Science movement - and I can not tell you how proud I am of this community and grassroots movement. After trying several different tricks; finally figured out how to mount these delicate creatures on a glass slide. Offcourse, they are perturbed – they run back inside the shell.. so this one is living inside the shell. None the less; you can see the seat and the tentacles all folded to fit inside the tiny house. Hoping to now find a massive field of living Bryozoa – but that will take some fresh sargassum.
Will try some flow visualizations now.. although need to figure out what in my kitchen can act as a flow tracer without perturbing the behavior of the creature.
Cheers
