These are images of a honeycrisp apple skin. It was developed in the 1960’s and released to the market in 1991 after being patented in 1988 by the University of Minnesota. The honeycrisp line of apples was developed to be one that had a long shelf life and extra large cells to provide a larger burst of juice when being eaten.
