Here, the crystals of Splenda display all their artificially sweet glory. Splenda is derived from sucralose, which is naturally calorie-free. Splenda itself is not calorie-free, but contains fewer calories than natural sugar.
Splenda contains 95% dextrose (D-glucose) and maltodextrin which the body readily metabolizes, with a small amount of mostly indigestible sucralose.
