This is a video that I captured using time lapse on my foldscope of a sea urchin egg; right after fertilization. I am still trying to wrap my head around all the events – but I wanted to share the video; before I write what I know about the series of events.
Watch a giant single cell trying to divide; this one fails to undergo first mitosis division. Incredibly beautiful..
The first puzzle to solve here is te clear rufflig membrane. I am looking for any place else this observation is reported – but can not seem to find it as yet. I will follow this with a details post of elements that can be identified – in the mean time; enjoy the video and look out for single cells in your back yard.
Cheers
