I am a faculty at Stanford and run the Prakash Lab at Department of Bioengineering at Stanford University. Foldscope community is at the heart of our Frugal Science movement - and I can not tell you how proud I am of this community and grassroots movement. MEWOEN TSUGLAG PETOEN SCHOOL,Dharamshala.
I am very happy to write this report that we have already started making use of the fold-scopes provided to our school. Our students are taking lot of interest and were excited in making and using the fold-scope. I have started this with grade IX students as for now. I have guided the students through online fold-scope tutorial in the computer lab and the students are so smart that they learned easily without much effort from my side. I am attaching some pictures of my students making fold-scopes. I couldn’t introduce the same to other classes due to the less numbers of fold-scopes in hand.
This fold-scope is really very easy to handle and carry it outside the science lab too. It is helping students find lot of interest in science and thereby develop scientific temperament amongst students.
I am thankful to Mr. Tsering Dhondup, Education Officer, DoE, CTA for believing in me and having trust in me that I will make use of this fold-scope properly and for guiding me through.
On behalf of students and myself, would like to thank all the concern persons for making us a part of this great innovative device which is very simple but useful in instilling scientific spirit in children.
