Today we studied sunflower pollen under microscope. to prepare slide we took a very small peice of tape and brushed it against the flower near the middle of the top near the pollen sacs. we then assumed that we had gotten a few grains and proceeded to prepare a slide. we then observed it under microscope.
at first we could not see anything and had to change the field a lot just trying to find some pollen but finally i spotted some of these yello spots and upon further zooming i noticed the pollen was actulally transparent and the medium around it was yellow. this pollen was a mixture of shapes but was smaller than pollen of hibiscus
we again had a lot of fun doing this experiment and had a wonerful class
