 When viewed from naked eye ,the aloe vera skin looks green colour with faint lines.A little portion of the aloe skin is stained with safranin .The stained portion when viewed under foldscope ,the faint lines are clearly seen.The outer layer of the aloe skin is also visible as a darkly stained border.

 Aloe vera thorn is a very small structure on the border of the leaf.When viewed from naked eye it just looks like a spiky structure.But when viewed under the foldscope we can observe different layers .The outer most layer is very dark and it is the most dried one.Then comes the less dried one.

 Firstly, we dissected the transverse section of coriander root. Then we stained it with saffarnin and we prepared a slide with it. Then we observed the slide under foldscope. We found xylem and others parts of the root. The bubbles like structures in the above image are xylem. The transverse sections showed xylem arrangement typical to dicot roots.

 Coriander flower is a very small ,white flower.The flower had 5 small petals which are slightly pink at the end .The flower was radially symmetrical.We disected the flower laterally.When viewed under the foldscope we could observe the clear petals with laterally disected ovary which has two carpels.

 Firebrat is an insect having 3 long thread like tails that split from the tip of the abdomen. It also has two antenna on their head.

 Jackfruit seed coat, when viewed from naked eye, is white in color. Its hard coat which protects the seed. When viewed under the foldscope we could see the seed coat more clearly. We could also observe layers of the seed coat.

 Water melon seed coat when viewed from naked eye just appears to be in brownish black coloured hard coat.But when viewed under the foldscope we could see black spots.We could also observe some faint cells which are lighter compared to the spots.

 Jackfruit from inside is a bit soft and white in colour. From the naked eye, we could just see a thick white layer. When viewed under the foldscope we could see some cells of light and dark colours. The
 
 seeds
 
 from ripe fruits are edible, and are said to have a milky, sweet taste often compared to Brazil nuts. They may be boiled, baked, or roasted. When roasted, the flavor of the
 
 seeds
 
 is comparable to chestnuts.

 Watermelons (Citrullus lanatus) are a member of the family Cucurbitaceae originally hailing from southern Africa. The fruit is actually a berry (botanically referred to as a pepo) which has a thick rind or exocarp and a fleshy center. Although not in the genus Cucumis, watermelon is loosely considered as a type of melon. In the image above we found the inside of the watermelon seed to be firm with a tinge of yellow in its top layer.


 There are between 300-500 seeds in a watermelon, depending upon the size of course. Although usually discarded, the seeds are edible and delicious when roasted. They are also highly nutritious and high in fat as well. One cup of watermelon seeds has over 600 calories.

 Onion flowers occur in a bunch. They appear white in colour with fine green lines.When dissected we could see four lobes. When viewed under the foldscope each lobe is clearly seen. Each lobe is green in colour.

 Its a perennial plant with upright bushy habit. The new cultivar is compact and bushy, with multiple offshoots coming from single stems, where a fallen leaf had been attached to a stem a new branch will form. Multiple flower shoots, as many as 9 or 10, arising from single stems. Stems are generally round about 1.3 cm in diameter. Plants will grow about 30 cm in one summers growth period, holding leaves about 20 cm down the stem which adds to its bushy appearance. Single silver gray thorns about 1 cm in length extend from stem.

 The petals are waxy with the centre of the flower a different
colour to the rest. For example the most common Plumeria has white

 The fruit of the almond is a drupe, consisting of an outer hull and a hard shell with the seed(nut). Inside the hull is a reticulated, hard, woody shell (like the outside of a peach pit) called the endocarp. When we cut a small section of the shell and place it under the foldscope we see the fiber like structures of the shell.

 Mealybugs or Pseudococcidae are unarmoured, scaled insects found in moist, warm climates.  Mealybugs are considered pests as they feed on plant juices of greenhouse plants, house plants and subtropical trees and also act as a vector for several plant diseases.


 Mealybug females feed on plant sap, normally in roots or other crevices, and in a few cases the bottoms of stored fruit. They attach themselves to the plant and secrete a powdery wax layer (hence the name
 
 mealy
 
 bug) used for protection while they suck the plant juices. The males on the other hand are short-lived as they do not feed at all as adults and only live to fertilize the females. Male citrus mealy bugs fly to the females and resemble fluffy gnats.


 Some species of mealybug lay their eggs in the same waxy layer used for protection in quantities of 50–100; other species are born directly from the female.

 Mealybugs only tend to be serious pests in the presence of ants because the ants protect them from predators and parasites. Mealybugs also infest some species of carnivorous plant such as Sarracenia (pitcher plants); in such cases it is difficult to eradicate them without repeated applications of insecticide such as diazinon. Small infestations may not inflict significant damage. In larger amounts though, they can induce leaf drop.

 are small flowerless plants that typically grow in dense green clumps or mats, often in damp or shady locations. Their leaves are simple, usually only a single layer of cells with no internal air spaces, often with thicker midribs. They do not have proper roots , but have threadlike rhizoids that anchor them to their substrate. Mosses do not absorb water or nutrients from their substrate through their rhizoids.
