Class.. 10 practical class started with the study of stomata. Stomata are the openings found on the surface of leaf which help in gaseous exchange. More number of stomata are distributed on the lower surface of leaf compared to the upper surface to prevent excess transpiration. Each stomata has two bean shaped guard cells surrounded by numerous epidermal cells. The opening is called the stoma or stomata pore through which gaseous exchange takes place.
