The genus Bipolaris includes important plant pathogens with worldwide distribution. The genus contains several well known pathogenic species that affects wheat, rye, barley, oat and other graminaceous plants. The pathogen is particularly aggressive under conditions of high humidity and high temperature. Bipolaris species are now emerging as a potential human pathogen causing infections of the skin, wound, post operation infection,burn,etc as reported by various researchers.
