Learning usage and assembly of foldscope @ GGDSD workshop gave me real life-time experience – ‘how amazing the nature is ?
On 2 nd day of workshop we were taken for a walk to nearby Japanese garden. On the way I spotted a wild plant with beautiful baby pink flowers which were without any pedicel. It was the flower of musk mallow – a wild member of Okra family. I plucked a few flowers and saw its typical pistil and a clustered anthers arising from the terminal end of the pistil. The anthers were caducous type and shredded quickly. However, I was successful in dusting pollen on a slide and observed these through a foldscope.
