Exploring around the campus collecting samples I encountered small black antlike insects which were much smaller and you would miss them had you not seen them moving. Also as soon as they sense you they just freeze as if black dots, here is a small view into their structure as the front, is and tail view as seen under the Foldscope using a glass slide and clear tape. The first in the series is using the Foldscope 1.0, 140X where we can see antennae like structures, mid body and a distinct tail like structure.

The next is using the Foldscope 2.0, 140X lens all the view in natural light are amazing but the small white torch acessory has been used for taking the pictures using a Samsun M31 with 1X. WE can see the strutural features do get better using the 2.0 version.

This is followed by a 340X on F 2.0 where we can see the detailed structure of the antennae, the banded pattern of the mid body and the tapering tail.

There seems to be a lot of droplets coming out from the insect post it being mounted under a clear tap although busy has not been smashed at all. More coming on the flowers and their pollen till then keep exploring.
