Foldscope is designed to bring paper microscopy out of science laboratories and into the hands of people around the world. The Research Committee of Vellalar College for Women (Autonomous), Erode has organized a UGC funded State level Workshop on the topic entitled “Tools to Revitalize Research and Teaching” on 28.02.2019. Dr. S. Sharmila, Principal Investigator, DBT – Foldscope Project Scheme, Assistant Professor in Botany, Vellalar College for Women (Autonomous), Erode-12, served as a resource person and delivered a motivative lecture of Foldscope to all the Staff members and Research Scholars of our institution. She introduces the Foldscope to our own faculty members of various Departments and explained about ultra-affordable, paper microscope and it give optical quality similar to conventional research microscopes. She emphasized the assembly and handling with their importance and usage of Foldscope. The participants were very excited on hearing the description of Foldscope by the trainer. At end of the session, they clarify the doubts about foldscope.
