Day 4 started with periwinkle pollen, and this one gave me a hard time. Unlike the bright yellow sunflower or hibiscus pollen, periwinkle pollen is completely transparent — so finding it on the slide felt like searching for something invisible. On top of that, I made a rookie mistake of not cleaning the slide properly, so leftover pollen from the previous day kept throwing me off. But I got there eventually. Observations: At 140x, the slide looked almost empty at first — just a faint wavy thread and a small bubble-like structure sitting quietly in the centre. At 340x though, everything changed. A cluster of rounded grains appeared, each one with a distinct star-like pattern inside — like little snowflakes trapped in glass. The light enhanced version revealed the same cluster glowing, with radiating lines inside each grain that I completely wasn't expecting. Low expectations, high results. Periwinkle pollen might be my favourite one so far.
