Day 1-7th April 2025 School-Loyola PU College Host-St.Josephs University Number-65
Today, we kicked off our Foldscope workshop Loyola PU College, sponsored by St. Joseph's University and I was accompanied by DR. Debarati. The excitement was palpable as students eagerly gathered in the class looking forward to fold the Foldscope, ready to embark on a journey of discovery and exploration. As we began to fold the Foldscope, the students were fascinated by ease of assembly, the colour coding and the process of transforming a flat sheet of paper into a functional microscope. They were open to learning and making mistakes, slightly shy in asking questions, but they engaged in lively discussions. One of the highlights of the day was how the students demonstrated remarkable understanding and adaptability to all the instructions being given in English. They answered so well on being asked about the importance of thin samples, which side of the slide faces the lens, and more. Held in the second half of the day, they were curios and enthusiastic, thrilled to see them develop a deeper appreciation for the world of microscopy. As we wrapped up the day, we couldn't help but feel inspired by their eagerness to learn and explore. Tomorrow, we'll dive deeper into the world of microscopy, exploring the wonders of the microscopic realm and uncovering the secrets of the natural world. Stay tuned for more updates from our Foldscope workshop! #Foldscope #Microscopy #STEMeducation #StJosephsUniversity Thanks to all the student mentors and the educators at St. Josephs University specially Dr.Mitra Madappa for this wonderful engagement.
