I fell behind with harvesting marjoram in my garden and as a result, the plants started flowering.
But, before cutting them back, I grabbed some flowers, collected the pollen, and looked at it under my Foldscope 2.0.
It is crazy how just changing the lighting made the pollen grains go from appearing flat and two dimensional (shown here in brightfield lighting at 140X and 340X)
to becoming three dimensional spheres (shown here in reflective lighting at 140X and 340X).
How often to you play with different lighting techniques when you use your Foldscope 2.0? Pollen samples are perfect for trying out all that the 2.0 LED Light module can do!
