The tomatillo plants in my garden are blooming and fruiting right now! The black and white anthers inside the flowers really grabbed my attention.

So I grabbed some tape, a glass slide, and my Foldscope 2.0! The pollen grains were very small (they were hard to detect on the slide), but plentiful which made them easy to see under the Foldscope.

These images were captured using the 140X lens with darkfield and reflective lighting techniques:

For these images I used the 340X lens. I was able to get some good pictures using brightfield, darkfield, and reflective lighting at this level of magnification!
