On our fourth day for our science course, Exploring the Microcosm, we looked at the pollen of a periwinkle under the foldscope at 3 different magnifications, 50x, 140x and 340x. The cells were translucent, with slightly blackish cell walls. They were coffee bean shaped, and had a line down their center and a round shaped structure in the middle. Preparing this sample was fairly easy, as by now, I'd understood how to prepare pollen samples properly.
