A mass of tiny pollen grains (the individual yellow specks) is observed in this image. For the most part, the pollen grains are round and originally are clumped together; they are separated due to placing the cover slip over the sample on the sample slide. #caltechbi1
The sample was taken at approximately 3:30 pm on May 30, 2019 near the southwest entrance of the Caltech Annenberg Center for Information Science and Technology. A single flower bud was carefully removed and opened. The sample was then obtained by carefully rubbing an anther against a glass slide until pollen rubbed off. #caltechbi1
