Question of 6-year-old: What does a plant look like on it’s insides? (Made slide of both Kale and a pink Poinsettia.)

Thoughts on Kale: Well, it was hard to see through, but mommy found the edge of it which was thinner. When I looked through, I could see all these like little dots. They were called cells.

Thoughts on Poinsettia: Daddy helped me create this slide. We explored both the pollen and poinsettia leaf. Some parts of the leaf were green and some were pink. When I looked closely to the green leaf I could see the water going through the cells. When I looked closely to the pink leaf it was not really pink but an optical illusion of red and white mixing – the color was like little dots. The pollen was all dotty and like little ovals. It was very yellow. When I looked at one part, it almost looked like the little grains of pollen had been made into the shape of a lion.
