Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), Kolkata is an autonomous organization, situated at Kolkata, West Bengal. This institution has evolved as a pioneering centre for identifying and nurturing young talented students.

A one- day workshop, “Magnify Your Curiosity Explore the Microcosmos” was organised by Department Of Environmental Science, University of Calcutta on 7 ^th March 2019, at Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search, Kolkata West Bengal.

Introductory Session-

The session started with introducing Foldscope, and its application to the participants.

Demonstration session-

The Foldscope team demonstrated how to use Foldscope and after this demonstration of a lower life form such as algae, fungi and advanced life forms such as ferns, gymnosperms, angiosperms etc. were demonstrated.

Slide Preparation session-

In this session, Dr. Punarbasu Chaudhuri demonstrated slide preparation of Hibiscus pollen to observe under Foldscope. After this, all the participants prepared their individual slides and observed under Foldscope.

Conclusion-

This was their first exposure to Foldscope and they very much enjoyed this paper microscope.
