Dakshin Kalikata Sevasram is situated at Sarat Bose Lane, Kolkata, West Bengal. It is a home for boys belonging to the impoverished background. It was established in 1924 by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

A one-day workshop on, “Magnify Your Curiosity Explore the Microcosmos” was organised by Department Of Environmental Science, University of Calcutta, at Dakshin Kalikata Sevasram, Kolkata West Bengal on 5th March 2019.

Introductory Session-

The session started with introducing Foldscope, and its application to the participants.

Demonstration session-

The Foldscope team demonstrated how to use the paper microscope and it was followed by a demonstration of algae, fungi, onion cell, paramecium , amoeba , pollen grains, etc

Conclusion-

Participants very much enjoyed this paper microscope and this exhibition was a success.
