Department of Environmental Science, University of Calcutta jointly with Department of Physics, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya, organised a workshop on Foldscope on 28 ^th March 2019.

Introductory Session-

Since the participants of this workshop previously had exposure to foldscope, the workshop was for advanced students. This session began with a basic introduction to foldscope and how we can improvise foldscope to fluorescence microscopy.

Measurement using Foldscope-

In this session, Dr. Dilip Saikia demonstrated how to calibrate the measurement grid with pixels and after calibration how to measure the diameter of leaf stomata using foldscope also how to measure dust particle size.

Conclusion-

The workshop was a big success.
