Here began the journey with team Himalayan Volunteer Tourism (HVT Foundation) where I met this lovely gal Mahima Mehra whom I only spoke as a kind reference from Dr. ARJUN SURESH . Our agenda-A well planned schedule for Foldscope workshops across the Himalayas (Srinagar-Drass-Kargil-Leh). This was an opportunity to reach out to 450 students and spread awareness about AMR using the frugal science tool.
Landing at Srinagar we headed straight to the first session at Scholars' School Natipora, Srinagar, where we hosted 2 sessions addressing 96 young adults. It was fun as they answered the questions about causes of fever, antimicrobial agents, medicines and more. Children eager to learn, enthusiasm to experiment and note down their observations, with wow moments in between summed it all for the day.
Principal Roohie Sadaf, her management and hospitality was worth mentioning. Mahima spent time with senior students discussing career options, with teachers regarding teachers training program that we had just concluded through HVT. Just singing rhymes with the primary lot was great fun, the day had so much for us to take home. We gave 10 Foldscopes to knit this school part of the Microcosmos community.
