Our next stop at Padum, Zanskar Valley was the Model Public Schoolwhich was also our karmabhumi for sorting of the HOPE jackets. Team Himalayan Volunteer Tourism ( HVT foundation) swung in action at this school meeting the enthusiastic parents, youth, teachers and students. We spoke about substance abuse, which I feel should be made part of all capacity building workshops.

The youth brigade fired questions and the team answered them with ease, infact it was wonderful to hear one of the teachers say Anu mam you took a session for us so nice to meet you in person. Priti Sanghvi engaged with the bubbling energies of the little ones making beautiful wind chimes and believe me the kids enjoyed this session.
The Foldscope workshop was conducted in their science lab with children excited to use the frugal science tool. The how to use the tool question frizzled out as they used the microscope. They tookout a peel, checked for its thickness and then mounted it all by themselves. Their observations, came with so many wows, so many questions and the promise that they will manage fever better as care givers was inspiring. Each school we work with represents a part of the larger community but their problems make us wise and well read.
