Date-10th April 2025 Time-Morning session
Host-Agastya International Foundation Venue-Vijayapura
A summer funzone with 40 kids of age 5 onwards at Bijapur (Vijaypura) was great tpo begin with. The kids assembled and we spoke about fever, its causes and its management in our routine life. The children suggested the need for an age & dose appropriateness of a drug. Thus getting them closer to take responsibility for managing their health and those of their loved ones.
Onion cells We began with the exploration of the simple onion cells and the eureka moments were too many to handle, we even synced our phone to the screen on the wall thus making it easier for the entire batch to observe.
Potato cells The dive into the potato cells followed next, this helped them to see diversity, the ease of doing science and how structures that so often are taught to be similar, are actually very different.
Hibiscus pollen
The ease of the pollen mounting made them aware of how different samples need a different approach, the joy on their faces helped us tell them how bacteria are different and thus the drugs we use for the differ. The ease of taking pics, enlarging them and the view of the nucleus without staining was exciting for them and they were so engaged by barely got any time to talk n play.

Thanks is due to the entire team at Agastya Foundation, VIjayapura, Karnataka.
