Another day and we thought it would be a typical one with a school visit by Himalayan Volunteer Tourism ( HVT foundation) meet n greet with all stakeholders. But Skyagam (or Skagyam) as the name suggests was where the sky is the limit. A village in the remote, high-altitude Zanskar region of Ladakh, India, known for its stunning Himalayan landscapes, strong Buddhist heritage, and a focus on education, housing a key PM SHRI Government Cluster Middle School that actively participates in community and environmental initiatives, supported by local bodies.
The welcome was as if the heads of states were here, we witnessed the assembly in full action songs, praise for the heroes, quizzes and u know what just everyone participated in this spectrum nursery to grade 8 classes all were represented.
The cultural events lined up for us were laced with love from the students, teachers, villagers and even the old folk (elders of the village). Each song with a different tempo all together, fine tuned with live music and the hero of the show was the host who managed it so well he would give KJo a run for his money.
The Foldscope workshop held in the corridor, had rapt attention of the students who were present since early morning and it was almost post lunch that we hosted it. The kids were amazing they wanted to know about how to become a scientist, what are means to enter IISER/IIT and more. They wanted to know more about the causes of fever, antimicrobial agents, medicines we slides, viewed them and noted down our observations. Last but not the least we danced as well with a gait that one can only view and comment haa haa chipti chipti....... @highlight FoldscopeMyGovIndia#murtytrust#RohiniNilekani Philanthropies #theconvergencefoundation Pic credit Aradhya Wadavlikar #microcosmos#skyagam#PMShriSchools#school#socialcause#frugalscience#stemeducation#STEMLearning#foldscope #training
