What when you meet a batch of students grade 2-5 do you change your game plan, no these are amazing kiddos who are open to learning and so you pose the questions. Pat came the answers on what is fever, probable causes of fever, the need to know what anti microbials are and how they act, teacher can we #knowurfoe yes we can explore together.
The students keep coming back to show if their peel is correct, will they see cells, how to use the Foldscope, will I get angry if they don't get it right, sounds silly but its not. An amazing unlearning to connect with those who have the jest and resilience and want to change the world.
As usual the onion cell peel led the way, with little ones even showing if the peel thickness was appropriate, then came the mounting, but we did well. They were very mindful as they didnt want to tear up the foldscope, followed by the wow in kannada though. The joy of learning is what drives most students to explore, the next sample was potato cells slightly difficult as a sample to make, but they managed so well.
When they saw the different cells they were eager to know if microbes look different and can we someday see them, with that promise I left. can you imagine they even offered me lunch, bless them.
Thanks is due to the entire team at #Agastya International Foundation Vijayapura, Karnataka. The co-trainers were young teachers many so much energy in the room.
